Each team fields 4 players, 2 women and 2 men, no exceptions.
A disc is flipped at midfield, heads or tails is called.
The team that wins the flip begins on offense. One person
from that team immediately picks up the disc, retreats to
between the two cones at one end of the court, and checks
the disk in.
At the start of any posession, the offensive team can
only score at the opposite end of the court from which they
are standing. However, once the disc crosses the half court
line, the team then has the option to score at either end.
As in Ultimate, if the offensive team fails to complete
a pass or if the stall count is reached, it's a turnover.
The stall count starts at 5 and the defensive player must
be within 10 feet of the thrower to begin the stall.
For a score to count the disc has to leave the throwers hand
before it hits the cone. If you hold onto the disc and hit
the cone, it is a turnover.
If the defender knocks said cone over, it will be an automatic
score for the offense. If the offensive player knocks over the cone it is a turnover.
This game is a "Make it-Take it" game. If your
team scores you remain in possession of the disc. The disc
is checked in near the cone that was just scored at and
play continues.
You cannot sub on the fly. Subbing can only take place
after a score or during
an injury. It should take not more than a few seconds to sub,
players are expected to enter and exit the game as quick as
possible allowing play to resume quickly.
Each team will have one timeout per game. No timeouts are
permitted in the last 5 minutes of the game.
Most of the normal rules of Ultimate apply, e.g. fouls,
traveling, etc. However, we generally avoid making calls
unless it's very blatant. |
